Safe Beginnings Workshop
April 27, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT

The first of our 2022 Family Place New West in-person workshop series, in partnership with Safe Beginnings First Aid.
Learn what to do if an infant or child goes unconscious, stops breathing or begins to choke. This hands-on workshop will be followed by a discussion on preventing injuries for babies and toddlers. All participants will be given their own CPR dolls to work with. This workshop is being offered free to participants. It is not a certificate course, but is invaluable for parents and caregivers.
What to bring: We recommend that everyone bring a cushion or yoga mat, as CPR is typically taught at floor level. If you have a mobility issue we can adjust, but it might mean you won’t be able to participate fully at the correct compression depth. Note that adults will be required to wear masks in this workshop.
Instructor Sierra Penner, of Safe Beginnings First Aid, has been a passionate safety advocate for over a decade and is a long-time Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor and First Aid Instructor-Trainer.
There is no cost to this workshop. Registration is required to participate and there are limited spaces. Safe Beginnings Workshop Registration, Wed, 27 Apr 2022 at 7:00 PM | Eventbrite
